His Excellency KHUON Phon Rattanak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, embarked on a visit to Georgia on 15-16 May 2024. The purpose of his visit was to deepen the already strong political and economic cooperation between the two nations. During his stay in Tbilisi, Secretary of State KHUON Phon Rattanak had the honor of meeting with His Excellency Ilia Darchiashvili, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
The meeting between Secretary of State KHUON Phon Rattanak and Minister Darchiashvili was marked by an appreciation for the existing bilateral relations between Cambodia and Georgia. Both officials reiterated their commitment to strengthening these relations and enhancing collaboration in areas of mutual interest. The discussions focused on ways to further solidify the friendship between the two countries and explore avenues for closer cooperation.
As part of his visit, Secretary of State KHUON Phon Rattanak co-chaired the First Session of Bilateral Consultations between the two Foreign Ministries alongside His Excellency Alexander Khvtisiashvili, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, on 16 May 2024. This session underscored the significance of the Bilateral Consultations mechanism in fostering dialogue and enhancing cooperation between Cambodia and Georgia. Both sides recognized the potential for future high-level interactions to strengthen and expand their close ties further, particularly in the realms of trade and economic exchanges.
The discussions during the Bilateral Consultations highlighted the shared commitment of Cambodia and Georgia to deepening their political and economic cooperations.
