Cambodia Commits to the Mekong-Japan Cooperation Strategy 2024 for Sustained Peace and Prosperity in Mekong Sub-region

Cambodia has pledged its commitment to collaboratively implement the Mekong-Japan Cooperation Strategy 2024. This strategy is aimed at fostering long-term peace, stability, and prosperity within the Mekong Sub-region. This decision was highlighted following the participation of Cambodian Foreign Minister Sok Chenda Sophea at the 15th Mekong-Japan Cooperation Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, which took place on 26 July 2024 in Vientiane, Laos.

The meeting, as reported by Fresh News on Tuesday, July 30, was a significant platform for discussing various aspects of cooperation between the Mekong countries and Japan, focusing on creating a robust framework for long-term socio-economic development in the region. The Mekong-Japan Cooperation Strategy 2024 is a culmination of joint efforts aimed at addressing critical issues such as economic disparities, environmental challenges, and the need for sustainable development practices.

During the session, Sok Chenda Sophea emphasized the importance of this strategic collaboration.
