Dauntri Dam Development Nears Completion in Battambang

by TBC

The Dauntri Dam Development Project in Rukhak Kiri district, Battambang province, is nearing completion, with 92 percent of the construction finished as of January 26, 2025.

According to an update from the Battambang Provincial Administration on January 29, the project is on track for full completion by October this year.

Located approximately 90 kilometers northwest of Battambang’s provincial city, the dam is being built with financing from a concessional loan provided by the Republic of Korea.

Once operational, the Dauntri Dam will have the capacity to store around 163.1 million cubic meters of water, providing irrigation for 33,000 hectares of farmland during the rainy season and 4,500 hectares in the dry season.

Beyond irrigation, the project is expected to support clean water supply initiatives and help mitigate flooding in certain downstream areas.

An estimated 8,500 households are set to benefit from the completion of this vital infrastructure project.
