In 2024, a total of 1,023,688 foreign tourists purchased tickets to visit the Angkor Archaeological Park, marking an impressive increase of over 28% compared to 2023, which saw 798,069 ticket purchases. Ticket sales generated US$47,826,981 in revenue, also reflecting a 28% increase compared to the previous year’s earnings of US$37,198,988.

Breaking down ticket purchases:

  • Over 630,000 visitors (more than 61%) opted for the one-day ticket priced at $37.
  • More than 370,000 tourists (around 36%) purchased the three-day ticket for $62.
  • The one-week ticket, costing $72, was chosen by over 16,000 visitors (approximately 1.61%).

Mr. Ly Se, Director General of the Angkor Foundation, shared in a recent interview with Fresh News that the site is expected to welcome between 25% and 30% more tourists in 2025, bringing the total to approximately 1.3 million visitors.

To improve the experience for international tourists, the Angkor Foundation has introduced automatic ticket machines, allowing visitors to conveniently purchase one-day tickets without the need to stand in long queues.

These ticket machines are currently in trial use at three key locations:

  1. The Angkor Foundation’s main ticket sales office.
  2. Pavy Angkor.
  3. Herat Tech Walk Shopping Mall.

This modernized ticketing system is part of the foundation’s efforts to streamline services and accommodate the growing number of tourists, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable visit to the iconic Angkor site.
