Cambodia’s contribution to world peace is appreciated by the UN.

Cambodia has made a significant contribution to preserving world peace, according to Abdulla Shahid, President of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Abdulla Shahid said Cambodia has changed from a country receiving blue-helmet forces to a country providing troops for peacekeeping operations under the UN’s umbrella during a courtesy call on the Cambodian Prime minister at the Peace Palace in this city this morning.

Abdulla Shahid praised Hun Sen’s leadership in bringing complete peace and stability to the country through the Win-Win policy, which has left no one behind, avoided retaliation, and promoted national unity. He said, “This is a major success and a great transformation in Cambodia’s reputation.”

Hun Sen responded by thanking Abdulla Shahid for his positive remarks about Cambodia. Abdulla Shahid also serves as the Republic of Maldives’ Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Prime Minister gave his guest an overview of Cambodia’s friendly investment policies and asked him to persuade Maldivian investors to look for investment opportunities in Cambodia, particularly in the field of agriculture, such as rice milling, storage, and export, in order to strengthen trade relations between the two nations.
