Experts Gather to Enhance High-Quality Development of Belt and Road Initiative

A seminar was recently held in Zhejiang Province, China, where more than 60 scholars and experts from over 20 Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) participating countries came together to discuss and share insights on various topics such as digital innovation, green development, poverty alleviation, and civilization exchange. The seminar aimed to pool wisdom and expertise for the high-quality construction and development of the BRI.

Zhejiang Province, known for its achievements in digital innovation, trade logistics, capacity cooperation, and cultural exchange, highlighted its contributions to the BRI. China, over the past decade, has signed cooperation documents with over 150 countries and 30 international organizations, resulting in thousands of cooperative projects and attracting substantial investments amounting to nearly a trillion U.S. dollars.

Fruitful results have been observed in areas like transport infrastructure, green energy, agricultural technology for poverty alleviation, and vocational education, effectively improving the lives of countries participating in the BRI. The participants emphasized the need for enhancing information exchange, sharing research findings, and generating forward-looking and feasible research results to better support Belt and Road cooperation.

Chhem KiethRethy, Senior Minister and chairman of the Economic, Social, and Cultural Council of Cambodia, highlighted the positive impact of the Belt and Road construction on education in Cambodia. He emphasized the importance of establishing cultural bridges and enhancing mutual understanding between regions, which in turn can create opportunities for scientific research and cooperation in human resources among nations.

Experts and scholars from various countries, including Spain, Türkiye, Tonga, and South Africa, also shared their experiences and achievements related to the construction of the Belt and Road, further enriching the knowledge pool and fostering cooperation among participating countries.

The seminar served as a platform for experts and scholars to exchange ideas and contribute to the ongoing development and success of the Belt and Road Initiative. The discussions and insights from the seminar will provide valuable guidance for future endeavors aimed at promoting cooperation, development, and mutual benefits among countries involved in the initiative.
