Strengthening ASEAN-ROK Relations: Key Discussions Between Cambodian and Korean Diplomats

On February 19, 2024, a significant meeting took place between His Excellency KUNG Phoak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the ASEAN SOM Leader of Cambodia, and His Excellency LEE Jang-keun, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to ASEAN. The dialogue aimed at deepening the ties between ASEAN and the Republic of Korea, focusing on strategic cooperation across various sectors.
During this high-level engagement, both diplomats delved into potential avenues to advance the ASEAN-ROK Dialogue Relations. The discussion emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in key areas aligned with the three foundational pillars of ASEAN, which include political-security, economic, and socio-cultural cooperation.
The meeting served as a platform for an open exchange on a variety of regional and international matters of mutual interest. The discussions between His Excellency KUNG Phoak and His Excellency LEE Jang-keun are indicative of the shared vision for a more integrated and prosperous ASEAN region, in partnership with the Republic of Korea.
