Warm welcome for the PM in New York

On September 21, 2022, at 18:03 pm, the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, arrived in New York City, where he was welcomed by a group of about 100 well-wishers (5.03 am on September 22, 2022 in Phnom Penh).

The prime minister is in New York from September 21 to September 23, 2022, to deliver Cambodia’s national statement at the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.

The emphasis of this speech will be on Cambodia’s positive contributions to multilateralism based on the rule of law, cooperation in the fight against climate change, the multilateral trading system, and the promotion of digital policy.

Additionally, it will cover the green economy, Cambodia’s ASEAN Chairmanship, and Cambodia’s initiatives to lessen the COVID-19 pandemic’s effects and maintain long-term socioeconomic progress.

He will also meet several state and business leaders in the US.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen will fly to Havana, Cuba, for an official visit from September 23 to 25, after the conclusion of his mission in the United States. The Prime Minister will continue his journey to attend the funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo Abe on September 27 after his trip to Cuba.
