Phnom Penh, August 14 — H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI), welcomed a high-level delegation from Minebea Mitsumi Inc., led by Chairman Mr. Yoshihisa Kainuma, to discuss the Japanese manufacturer’s ongoing expansion in Cambodia.
Minister Vanndy praised Minebea’s significant contributions to Cambodia’s industrial growth, job creation, and export capacity. He congratulated the company on its operational success in the Royal Group Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone (PPSEZ) and the progress of its new facility in the Pursat Special Economic Zone (SEZ). He also highlighted the government’s commitment to enabling such investments, noting the recent decision to connect Pursat SEZ to the Pursat Water Supply Utilities to ensure a consistent supply of clean, high-quality water — a critical requirement for global electronics component manufacturers like Minebea Mitsumi.
Mr. Kainuma expressed his gratitude for MISTI’s direct support in meeting the company’s production needs. He reported that Minebea Mitsumi’s 20-hectare facility in PPSEZ continues to thrive, and construction of the Pursat plant is on track for completion by October.
“Everything is going smoothly, and we thank MISTI for answering our request for clean water supply. You have given us the confidence for our expansion,” Mr. Kainuma stated.
Minebea Mitsumi’s ongoing investment underscores Cambodia’s growing reputation as a competitive destination for advanced manufacturing, supported by proactive government facilitation and modern infrastructure development.
