Wing Bank CEO, Han Peng Kwang, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “The customers traveling to provinces for Khmer New Year will not need to bring along much physical cash. They can cash out at any of our outlets nationwide as we have reduced the fee to as low as 800 riels now.”
The process is simple and user-friendly. Bakong members can visit any nearby Wing location, scan the provided QR code at the counter, and instantly withdraw their funds. This seamless experience is made possible by Wing Bank’s extensive network of over 11,000 locations nationwide, eliminating the need for traditional bank branches or ATMs.
Bakong, the national payment gateway introduced by the National Bank of Cambodia, has become a crucial platform for secure and efficient financial transactions. Utilizing blockchain technology and open APIs, Bakong enhances interoperability among its 70 financial institution members, 49 of which are actively operating.
Wing Bank’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its customers is evident in its plans to launch additional branches and ATMs/CDMs in the upcoming months, further enhancing its reach and service offerings. Moreover, cash-in transactions to all Wing Bank accounts can be performed at any Wing outlet without any fees, simplifying financial management for customers.
