After discovering 47 mines while herding cows, a cow herder shocked himself and the authorities.
On June 9, Hem Sophal, 69, of Prek Chik Village, Prek Chik Commune, Rukkiri District, Battambang, made the discovery.
Sophal claims that the 47 mines were discovered when he was herding his cows. He claimed to have located the rest of the mines after seeing their number plates
The discovery was reported to the Rukkiri District Police’s Prek Chik Administrative Police Station, which inspected them and reported them to the CMAC.
The Rukkiri District Police praised the man for reporting the incident and urged people to be careful of UXOs and report them promptly if they are found.
