December 2024, Koh Pich, Phnom Penh – Startup Cambodia recently held its third Startup Ecosystem Meetup at Connexion, Koh Pich, bringing together Cambodia’s entrepreneurial community for an afternoon of innovation, collaboration, and forward-thinking discussions. Organized by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Techo Startup Center, with support from private sector groups such as OCIC, the event brought together tech founders, ecosystem enablers, and industry leaders to address the challenges and opportunities shaping Cambodia’s startup landscape.
The event opened with remarks from H.E. Dr. Taing Nguonly, Executive Director of the Techo Startup Center, and Mr. Thierry Tea, Vice President of OCIC. Attendees engaged in discussions on initial findings about Cambodia’s tech startup landscape during a consultation workshop and Q&A session.
H.E. Dr. Taing Nguonly emphasized the importance of strengthening Cambodia’s startup ecosystem and highlighted tools available to help startups grow. Startup Cambodia also unveiled new platform features and its 2024 Insights report, offering perspectives on the ecosystem’s progress and future. Key players, including Khmer Enterprise, Swisscontact, NICC, and CADT, shared their visions for the industry.
The meetup concluded with a networking session, fostering connections among tech leaders, startups, and ecosystem enablers. The event underscores OCIC’s commitment to supporting innovation in the tech startup ecosystem.
