Phnom Penh – Khmer Enterprise provided financial assistance to 32 startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) during a grant handover ceremony presided over by H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Khmer Enterprise. The initiative aims to enhance business operations, improve competitiveness, and strengthen export potential, reinforcing Cambodia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
H.E. Hem Vanndy highlighted Khmer Enterprise’s achievements and its strategic partnerships, both locally and internationally. He stated, “Khmer Enterprise has built a strong foundation and wide-ranging partnerships. With significant progress, Khmer Enterprise continues to foster an entrepreneurial mindset, enhance capacity through training, create networking opportunities, mobilize investment, and provide direct financial support to startups and SMEs.”
Since its establishment in 2020, Khmer Enterprise has implemented hundreds of programs to support entrepreneurship in Cambodia. Business plan competitions have encouraged creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit among students. Capacity development courses have addressed key business topics such as financial management, sales and marketing, and export strategies. Networking events have also played a crucial role in connecting startups and SMEs with investors, financial institutions, and business partners to build a more robust business ecosystem.
H.E. Dr. Chhieng Vanmunin, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as CEO of Khmer Enterprise, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening Cambodia’s startup and SME ecosystem. He said, “The direct financial assistance provided to startups and SMEs reflects the government’s ongoing support and dedication to building a strong and resilient entrepreneurial ecosystem. Khmer Enterprise’s contribution aligns with the current policy framework, focusing on enhancing business growth and improving market access.”
