On June 10, 2022, H.E. Lt. Gen. Dr. Hun Manet, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, inaugurated the Medical Waste Treatment Plant in Ang Snoul District, Kandal Province, Cambodia, under the project of Bun Leang Lee Global Co., Ltd.
A biomedical waste management plant is a facility which treats biological waste created by health-care facilities to prevent the negative effects that could impact human health and the environment.
Arranging the waste management and reconditioning for all waste created in health care facilities is a critical duty that contributes significantly to global cleanliness, public health, resource preservation, and ecosystem sustainability.
Medical waste recycling reduces the number of raw materials used and the amount of garbage that must be disposed of in a landfill. It minimizes the dangers and hazards to communities who are at risk due to hospitals.
In the first phase, the company has built, installed and opened up to five medical waste treatment plants in five provinces, including Kandal, Kampot, Tbong Khmum, Banteay Meanchey and Stung Treng. In the next phase, the company will expand its business by building and installing more medical waste treatment plants in all 24 provinces across the country.
The opening of this treatment plant marks a turning point in Cambodia’s biological waste management and recycling standards.
Norn Samnangseymony, Personal Assistant to H.E. Dr. Seang Bunleang, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior and Personal Advisor to the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bun Leang Lee Global Co., Ltd, accompanied H.E. Lt. Gen. Dr. Hun Manet, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, to the Inauguration Ceremony.
