During the first 10 months of 2025, Cambodia exported bicycles worth USD 502.85 million, up significantly from USD 340.55 million in 2024. The Ministry of Commerce highlighted that Cambodia’s five major bicycle assembly factories—operating inside the Bavet Special Economic Zone—have played a decisive role in this surge, contributing both capacity and competitiveness.

The United States, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands remain Cambodia’s top bicycle export destinations. These mature and high-value markets rely on Cambodia for consistent supply, competitive pricing, and strong manufacturing standards.

On the import side, Cambodia sources bicycles primarily from Japan, China, Viet Nam, Thailand, and the United States, reflecting both domestic demand and component requirements for assembly.

A major boost to the industry came when the European Union authorised Cambodia to use bicycle components and raw materials imported from Viet Nam for bicycles destined for EU markets. This decision dramatically improves production efficiency by shortening delivery times, stabilising supply chains, and reducing logistics costs.
