Cambodia’s bicycle industry continues to accelerate at an impressive pace, recording over USD 502 million in bicycle exports from January to October 2025—a sharp 47.66% increase compared to the same period last year. The figures, released by the Ministry of Commerce, underline Cambodia’s strengthening position as one of the world’s leading bicycle manufacturing hubs.

A Strong Year for Cambodia’s Bicycle Export Industry

During the first 10 months of 2025, Cambodia exported bicycles worth USD 502.85 million, up significantly from USD 340.55 million in 2024. This growth reflects rising global demand, improved supply-chain access, and the country’s expanding production capabilities in Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province.

The Ministry of Commerce highlighted that Cambodia’s five major bicycle assembly factories—operating inside the Bavet Special Economic Zone—have played a decisive role in this surge, contributing both capacity and competitiveness.

Key Export Markets Driving Growth

The United States, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands remain Cambodia’s top bicycle export destinations. These mature and high-value markets rely on Cambodia for consistent supply, competitive pricing, and strong manufacturing standards.

On the import side, Cambodia sources bicycles primarily from Japan, China, Viet Nam, Thailand, and the United States, reflecting both domestic demand and component requirements for assembly.

EU Approval Boosts Production Efficiency

A major boost to the industry came when the European Union authorised Cambodia to use bicycle components and raw materials imported from Viet Nam for bicycles destined for EU markets. This decision dramatically improves production efficiency by shortening delivery times, stabilising supply chains, and reducing logistics costs.

For Cambodia’s manufacturers—located just across the border—this regulatory flexibility strengthens export competitiveness and ensures faster turnaround for international orders.

Bavet’s Five Bicycle Assembly Factories: Powering Cambodia’s Export Engine

Cambodia hosts five major bicycle assembly factories within the Bavet Special Economic Zone in Svay Rieng Province. Each plays a vital role in scaling production, enhancing product diversity, and supporting global supply chains.

A AND J (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD.

A AND J is one of the earliest bicycle assembly companies to establish operations in Bavet. Known for its long-term export experience, the company specialises in mid-range and high-volume models for the European market. Its strong focus on quality assurance and efficient assembly lines has made it a preferred supplier for global distributors. The factory employs a significant number of local workers, contributing to job creation and skills development in the region.

SPEEDTECH INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD.

Speedtech Industrial is recognised for its advanced manufacturing techniques and investment in modern production machinery. The company focuses heavily on performance bicycles, including hybrid and sports models. With a reputation for maintaining stringent product standards, Speedtech has established robust partnerships with brands in Europe and North America. Its consistent output has helped strengthen Cambodia’s reputation as a reliable bicycle manufacturing destination.

SMART TECH (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD.

Smart Tech specialises in assembling OEM bicycles for international brands. The company is known for its flexibility, offering a wide range of models—from children’s bicycles to city bikes and folding bikes. Smart Tech’s commitment to scalable production has made it a key player in fulfilling large bulk orders from major global retailers. The factory also invests in workforce training to ensure high-quality assembly and compliance with international safety standards.

XDS BICYCLE (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD.

XDS Bicycle Cambodia operates as part of a well-known Asian bicycle manufacturing network. The factory is geared toward producing premium bicycles, including alloy-frame and lightweight models, for export to Europe and the United States. With its focus on innovation and component optimisation, XDS has contributed significantly to raising the overall production capabilities of the sector. Its emphasis on technology-driven assembly sets it apart as one of the most advanced facilities in the SEZ.

EVERGRAND BICYCLE (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD.

Evergrand Bicycle remains one of the most productive assembly plants in Bavet, specialising in high-volume orders and standardized bicycle models. The company’s strategic supply-chain management allows it to source components efficiently and maintain stable output even during periods of high demand. Evergrand’s large workforce, combined with streamlined production lines, enables the company to meet tight export schedules and maintain strong partnerships with international buyers.

Why Cambodia Is Becoming a Global Bicycle Manufacturing Hub

Several factors continue to position Cambodia as a top-tier bicycle exporter:

  • Strategic location near Viet Nam and Thailand, allowing fast cross-border supply chains.
  • Investor-friendly SEZs offering tax incentives and production-ready infrastructure.
  • Competitive labour costs enabling high-volume manufacturing at attractive price points.
  • Regulatory support, especially approval from the European Union regarding component sourcing.
  • Growing trust from global retailers who see Cambodia as a stable and efficient production base.

With these advantages, Cambodia is set to further expand its footprint in the global bicycle market in the years ahead.

Outlook: Strong Momentum Heading Into 2026

As international demand for bicycles remains high—driven by lifestyle trends, urban mobility needs, and environmental consciousness—Cambodia’s bicycle exports are expected to continue rising. More investment is also anticipated in the Bavet SEZ, which could introduce new factories, modernised equipment, and additional export capacity.

The sharp 47% growth recorded in 2025 demonstrates that Cambodia is not just competing globally—it is becoming a regional leader in sustainable manufacturing.
