Cambodian manufacturers registered more than 2,600 products with the government in the first nine months of 2026, a 73.33 percent increase on the same period of 2025, Prime Minister Hun Manet said in Phnom Penh on Thursday, 22 October.

Key points

  • More than 2,600 domestic products were registered from January to September 2026, up from just over 1,500 a year earlier.
  • That is a 73.33% year-on-year increase, announced by Prime Minister Hun Manet on 22 October 2026.

  • The Prime Minister urged consumers to buy Cambodian, and producers to raise quality, safety and packaging standards.

From 1,500 to 2,600 products in a year

The registrations were made with the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI) between January and September. In the same nine months of 2025, just over 1,500 types of domestic products were registered.

The rise points to a widening range of goods made in Cambodia, and to the growing importance of domestic production capacity and competitiveness.

A call to consumers and producers

The Prime Minister announced the figures at the launch of the National Strategy for the Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) 2026–2030. He asked Cambodian consumers to give stronger support to locally made products.

He also urged domestic producers to improve product quality and safety standards, invest in better packaging, respect intellectual property rights and prepare to expand into new markets, so that Cambodian goods can compete confidently at home and abroad.

The businesses behind the products

Most of these producers are small firms. According to the 2022 Economic Census by the National Institute of Statistics at the Ministry of Planning, Cambodia had about 750,000 economic establishments classified as MSMEs, employing around three million people, including about 1.8 million women.
