Saudi investors are expected to visit Cambodia in 2026 to explore new investment opportunities, strengthening economic ties between the two countries. The announcement was made by Mohammed Ismaeil A. Dahlwy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Cambodia, during a courtesy call with Cambodian Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen at the Senate Palace.
During the meeting, Ambassador Dahlwy highlighted the role of the Saudi Chambers of Commerce in facilitating the upcoming business delegation’s visit. The delegation is scheduled to engage with Cambodian counterparts to assess opportunities across multiple sectors, including trade, infrastructure, and economic development.
President Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed the announcement, noting that enhanced cooperation in investments and trade aligns with Cambodia’s broader economic development goals. He emphasized that such initiatives can contribute to job creation, bilateral trade growth, and long‑term economic partnership between Cambodia and Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi ambassador expressed appreciation for Cambodia’s continuous progress and reiterated optimism about the country’s future development. He expressed confidence that expanded economic cooperation would benefit both nations, reinforcing diplomatic and commercial relations that have been growing steadily in recent years.
This planned visit follows ongoing diplomatic engagement and people‑to‑people exchanges between the two countries. Both sides affirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and understanding, with expectations that the delegation’s visit will further open channels for business collaboration in 2026.
Economic analysts believe that increased foreign investment, such as that from Saudi Arabia, could play a significant role in Cambodia’s economic diversification. Strategic partnerships in key economic sectors may encourage additional international business interest and support Cambodia’s integration into the global marketplace.
