The e-commerce sector in Cambodia has seen a tremendous increase in 2021.

According to the Trade Training and Research Institute of the Commerce Ministry, the overall market value of e-commerce in Cambodia in 2021 was $970.10 million, a growth of 19.29% from $813.25 million in 2020.

According to the TTRI’s June 30 bulletin, which quoted the World Development Indicator, DataReportal, and Statista, fashion accounted for the majority of sales ($263.30 million, or 27.14 percent), followed by electronics ($254.40 million), beauty, health, personal, and household care ($230.50 million), toys, hobby, and do-it-yourself ($62.94 million), food ($57.19 million), furniture ($46.29 million), beverages ($44.29 million

After the Covid-19 crisis-induced boom, the e-commerce market is predicted to grow at a slower rate of 15.17 percent in 2022 before accelerating each year to an average of 16.424 percent between 2022 and 2025, reaching a value of $1.11729 billion this year, $1.287 billion in 2023, $1.509 billion in 2024, and $1.78234 billion in 2025.

Public confidence in e-commerce has been boosted by the E-Commerce Law’s strong backing as well as its implementation regulations, which have encouraged buyer and seller connections and transactions through online platforms that allow users to deal from any location at any time.

The Ministry of Commerce and other related organizations’ efforts to, among other things, implement regulations governing e-commerce and compel some online businesses to register, have helped to develop confidence between online buyers and sellers.
