Huawei Southeast Asia Holds Successful Rigger EHS Family Day 2024 to Promote Safety and Education

On June 15, 2024, Huawei Southeast Asia orchestrated a successful Rigger EHS Family Day in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, gathering riggers, their family members, and key figures to underscore the importance of safety awareness and practice. Notably attended by leaders from the Department of Labor and Vocational Training, Telecommunications Regulator of Cambodia, OSHA Safety Training Center, and corporate affiliates, the event shone a light on the collective dedication toward reducing occupational hazards in the telecommunications industry.

The day’s actions were driven by a clear objective: to instill a profound sense of safety importance among riggers and their families, acknowledging the risks intrinsic to their roles. It focused on engaging family members to reinforce to their loved ones the necessity of prioritizing a secure and well-regulated work environment, ultimately safeguarding their return home each day.

Key moments of the gathering included an intensive safety video session and discussions led by professionals on assiduous risk assessment, particularly when working at elevated heights and on towers. These expert-led narratives stressed the necessity of systematic safety measures and the personal onus on workers to integrate these practices in their daily operations.

Interactive segments, like the safety-oriented quiz for families and children, unified the crowd, iterating the importance of a community-based approach to safety education. These lively exchanges not only imparted critical knowledge but also cultivated collective accountability for a risk-free work environment.

As the festivities drew to a close, admiration was bestowed upon 23 exemplary contributors recognized for their strict observance of safety standards and efforts to foster a safety-centric culture. The accolades served as stark reminders that the integration of safety and excellence is essential and attainable.

With lively participation and the palpable dedication of all attendees to uphold the tenets of occupational safety, the event was heralded as a crucial platform for affirming the commitment across families and industry representatives. This collective acknowledgment and support underscore the sustained focus necessary to ensure safety is a seminal part of the rigging profession. The Rigger EHS Family Day was indeed a decisive step forward in this vital dialogue.
