Siem Reap – The APSARA National Authority (ANA) has reported a steady rise in both domestic and international visitors to the Angkor Archaeological Park, underscoring the enduring appeal of Cambodia’s premier heritage site despite ongoing border tensions with Thailand.
Speaking on August 19, ANA Deputy Director-General and Spokesperson Mr. Long Kosal highlighted the encouraging trend, noting that Angkor, located in Siem Reap province, remains geographically distant from the areas affected by the border situation.
“Visitors are aware of the circumstances along the border, but they remain confident in Cambodia’s security and safety measures,” Kosal said, reaffirming that tourism activity in Angkor has not been disrupted.
He also emphasized the Royal Government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding tourists and ensuring the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement, adding that these efforts would help restore peace along the border in the near future.
The continued flow of visitors is a positive sign for Cambodia’s tourism recovery, with Angkor Archaeological Park serving as a vital driver of the local economy and an enduring symbol of national pride.
