Prime Minister Hun Manet and visiting Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra jointly witnessed the signing of seven cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding this morning at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations.
The signed documents span key sectors of labour, infrastructure, environment, and capacity building. These include:
- An agreement on the employment of workers, and a memorandum of understanding on broader labour cooperation;
- A MoU between the respective Ministries of Environment on joint efforts to address transboundary environmental pollution;
- An agreement concerning the management and maintenance of the Stung Bot–Ban Nong Ian Cambodia-Thai Friendship Bridge;
- An agreement for the construction of a new border bridge connecting Phsa Prum and Ban Pakard international border checkpoints;
- A record of discussions outlining technical assistance for the detailed design of the National Road No. 57 (Battambang–Prum International Gate) improvement project, between Cambodia’s Ministry of Public Works and Transport and Thailand’s Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA);
- And the exchange of notes related to projects aimed at strengthening the capacity of Cambodian-Thai Skills Development Centres.
These agreements underscore the commitment of both nations to advancing regional connectivity, workforce development, and environmental cooperation.
