Phnom Penh, Cambodia – Cambodia’s bicycle export industry saw a notable increase in January 2026, with shipment revenues reaching US$63.57 million, a substantial rise compared to the same period last year, government and trade data show.
According to official figures, bicycle exports in January 2026 recorded a 68.51 % increase, up from US$37.72 million in January 2025, reflecting growing global demand for Cambodian manufacturing output. The increase was driven by expanded production capacity and diversification of export markets.
Industry analysts attribute the sharp rise to several factors, including stronger partnerships with international buyers and improvements in supply chain logistics. Cambodia’s bicycle production facilities, particularly in special economic zones, are increasingly able to meet higher order volumes from Europe, North America and other Asian markets.
Export growth was also supported by government policies that encourage manufacturing expansion, investment incentives and trade facilitation, according to business sources. These initiatives have helped reduce logistical delays and improve competitiveness in international markets, benefiting local producers and exporters.
Trade officials noted that the increase in bicycle exports aligns with Cambodia’s broader strategy to strengthen its footprint in the global manufacturing sector, particularly in consumer goods with high demand. Bicycle manufacturers and exporters are expected to continue exploring new markets and negotiating long-term contracts to sustain export momentum throughout 2026.
Economists say that strong export performance in the manufacturing sector can contribute to broader economic growth and employment generation. Continued demand from overseas partners may support production scaling and attract further investment into Cambodia’s industrial zones.
As Cambodia’s bicycle export value continues to rise, stakeholders are monitoring developments in global trade conditions and transportation costs to ensure that gains in export revenues are maintained amid shifting international market dynamics.
