Trade between Cambodia and Singapore reached approximately USD 2.3 billion in 2025, reflecting a strong expansion in bilateral economic activity driven largely by a sharp rise in Cambodian exports. The latest trade data indicates that Cambodia’s shipments to Singapore surged by more than 200 percent compared to the previous year, underscoring growing demand for Cambodian products within the Singapore market and the broader ASEAN region.
Cambodian exports to Singapore in 2025 were led by agricultural commodities, garments, footwear, precious stones and metals, and light manufactured goods. The significant growth in these categories highlights Cambodia’s progress in diversifying its export base and improving production capacity. Singapore continues to serve as an important regional trading hub, offering Cambodian exporters access to wider international markets through established logistics and distribution networks.
Imports from Singapore to Cambodia also increased during the year, primarily comprising industrial machinery, electronics, refined fuel products, and various consumer goods. These imports support Cambodia’s manufacturing, construction, and infrastructure development activities. Although Cambodia maintains a trade deficit with Singapore, the rapid acceleration in exports indicates a gradual improvement in trade balance dynamics between the two countries.
The expansion in bilateral trade has been supported by favorable regional trade frameworks, including ASEAN trade agreements and broader multilateral partnerships. Reduced tariffs, streamlined customs procedures, and improved cross-border logistics have made it easier for businesses in both countries to participate in trade. Enhanced connectivity and regulatory cooperation have further strengthened commercial exchanges.
Beyond merchandise trade, Singapore remains one of Cambodia’s key sources of foreign investment. Singapore-based companies are actively involved in sectors such as renewable energy, agribusiness, financial services, real estate, and digital infrastructure. These investments have contributed to technology transfer, job creation, and capacity building within the Cambodian economy.
In 2025, both governments reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic cooperation through continued dialogue and collaboration. As Cambodia focuses on export growth, industrial development, and regional integration, its trade relationship with Singapore is expected to remain a vital component of its long-term economic strategy, supporting sustainable growth and deeper engagement within Southeast Asia.
