Phnom Penh — The Cambodia International Machinery Industry Fair (CIMIF 2025) and the Cambodia International Textile & Garment Industry Fair (CTG 2025) officially opened yesterday in Phnom Penh, marking a significant step forward in Cambodia’s vision to transform its industrial sector and position itself as a competitive manufacturing hub in the region.
Held at the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center from August 6–9, the twin expos bring together over 200 global manufacturers, technology innovators, and investors from 15 countries. The fairs aim to spark collaboration, technology transfer, and investment in Cambodia’s rapidly evolving industrial ecosystem.
In his keynote address, H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, emphasized the importance of resilience in the face of national challenges. “Despite current threats to Cambodia’s sovereignty, the strong spirit of national unity and unwavering commitment to our duties — both at the frontline and across the country — remains the driving force behind our resilience and progress,” he stated.
Minister Vanndy praised the fairs as a symbol of growing synergy between the public and private sectors. “These exhibitions reflect our shared commitment to building a resilient, innovative, and inclusive industrial sector that supports job creation, economic growth, and regional integration.”
Organized by YORKERS Trade & Marketing Service Co., Ltd., one of Asia’s most prominent trade fair organizers, the dual event introduces state-of-the-art machinery, automation tools, and sustainable manufacturing solutions tailored to Cambodia’s needs — especially in textiles and garments, which continue to provide livelihoods for over one million Cambodians and contribute significantly to national exports.
A key highlight of the Minister’s address was Cambodia’s recent advancement in international trade policy. He pointed to the newly improved reciprocal tariff arrangement with the United States, which is expected to create more favorable conditions for Cambodian exports. “This policy provides Cambodia with certainty and a competitive edge that we must seize to strengthen our capabilities and become a diversified manufacturing base in the region and the world,” he said.
He called on stakeholders to embrace innovation and modernization. “We must all commit to stepping into a new era that uses modern technology, techniques, and machinery — including automation — to build a new era of industry and services with high standards, quality, and productivity.”
Mr. Akai Lin, Overseas Director of Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service, echoed this sentiment, highlighting Cambodia’s regional advantages. “Machinery and technology are increasingly critical for the next phase of industrial development, and Cambodia’s strategic location in Southeast Asia makes it an ideal destination for investors and global suppliers.”
Both CIMIF and CTG 2025 offer a comprehensive showcase of industrial segments, spanning:
- Machinery & Manufacturing: advanced automation systems, plastic and rubber processing, packaging and printing equipment, and food processing solutions
- Automotive Components: tools and systems for vehicle parts and maintenance
- Textile & Garment: threads, fabrics, accessories, garment production machinery, and digital textile printing solutions
The four-day event also serves as a hub for business networking, investment sourcing, and expert-led forums that address policy, sustainability, and future industry trends.
