Phnom Penh — Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Manet has returned to Cambodia after concluding a nearly two-week diplomatic mission to the United States and several European countries, government sources confirmed. The journey, which aimed to strengthen diplomatic ties and address regional challenges, concluded with the Prime Minister’s arrival at Techo International Airport earlier today.
During the visit to Washington, the Prime Minister participated in high-level meetings with senior officials and representatives from the U.S. government. Discussions focused on bilateral cooperation across areas such as trade, security, regional stability and border issues involving neighbouring countries.
In addition to engagements in the United States, Hun Manet’s European stopovers included meetings with political counterparts and international leaders to discuss areas of mutual interest, including economic partnerships and shared commitments to peace and development. The diplomatic mission also underscored Cambodia’s intent to expand collaboration with Western partners.
Government officials said the tour reinforced Cambodia’s commitment to deepening international cooperation, strengthening economic ties and promoting stability amid ongoing regional dynamics. Stakeholders highlighted the importance of maintaining dialogue and engagement with global partners as key to addressing transnational challenges, including border disputes and economic integration.
During the trip, the Prime Minister was reported to have reiterated Cambodia’s ongoing support for peaceful resolution mechanisms, reflecting the country’s broader diplomatic stance on regional security matters.
