Phnom Penh, March 11 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has emphasized the significant role of the Royal Government’s document verification platform, verify.gov.kh, in enhancing the delivery of public services to the nation’s citizens. The announcement was made during the Digital Government Forum and Digital Technology Expo’s inauguration at the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Prime Minister Manet highlighted that verify.gov.kh, which was honored with a gold medal at the ASEAN Digital Awards 2024, is poised to become a cornerstone in the provision of a wide range of public services, aimed at improving the lives of the Cambodian populace. “This platform is expected to be instrumental in facilitating access to essential services and simplifying administrative processes for our citizens,” stated the Prime Minister.
In addition to discussing the document verification platform, the Prime Minister also took the opportunity to outline the Royal Government’s accomplishments in the digital transformation sphere. Among the key initiatives mentioned were the Financial Management Information System Project (FMIS), the implementation of a one-stop service system, enhancements to the e-tax and customs system, the introduction of the Non-Tax Revenue Management Information System (NRMIS), streamlined business registration and licensing processes, advancements in digital and electronic education, improved identification management systems, and upgraded land and vehicle management systems.
Moreover, the Cambodian Data Exchange (CAMDX), a pivotal infrastructure facilitating data sharing and exchange between public and private entities within a unified ecosystem, was recognized for its international acclaim, having received accolades at the Future of Government Awards 2022. This achievement further underscores the Royal Government’s dedication to leveraging digital solutions to advance governance and service delivery, marking a significant stride towards a digitally empowered government sector in Cambodia.
