Siem Reap Province experienced a vibrant celebration as more than 330,000 national and international tourists and residents visited the area during the 2024-2025 New Year’s Eve celebrations, held from December 30 to 31, 2024.
According to the Siem Reap Provincial Department of Tourism, the total number of visitors reached 333,660, marking a 9.73% increase compared to 2023’s figure of 304,064. Among these, approximately 323,400 were national tourists and local residents, reflecting a 9.63% rise from the previous year. International tourists accounted for 10,260 visitors, a significant 13.20% growth compared to the 9,064 recorded during the same period in 2023.
To enhance the festive atmosphere, the Siem Reap provincial authorities undertook extensive preparations, including city beautification and a variety of entertainment programs. Highlights of the celebration included a spectacular water fountain and light show synchronized with music, with water jets reaching up to 80 meters high. Key areas like the garden in front of the Royal Palace and the bustling Pub Street entertainment zone were adorned with colorful lights.
The festivities culminated in a countdown to 2025, accompanied by an impressive fireworks display, creating a memorable experience for all who attended.
