Nice, France : Cambodia and Tajikistan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, with leaders from both nations discussing potential collaboration in key sectors including clean energy, agriculture, and education.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3) in Nice, France, where Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet held talks with H.E. Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the bilateral discussion, both leaders expressed a shared interest in expanding cooperation and fostering closer ties between the two countries. They extended mutual invitations for official state visits at a time convenient to both sides, and instructed their respective foreign ministers to coordinate efforts to enhance cooperation and arrange future high-level exchanges.
President Emomali Rahmon reflected on the 2019 visit of Cambodian Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen to Tajikistan as a milestone in the two countries’ diplomatic engagement. He underscored Tajikistan’s strength in renewable energy, reiterating his country’s goal of transitioning to 100 percent clean energy by 2038. President Rahmon also praised Cambodia’s achievements in the agriculture sector, commending its capacity to maintain food security while generating an export surplus.
Expressing optimism for the future of bilateral relations, the Tajik President voiced confidence in Cambodia’s leadership under Prime Minister Hun Manet, noting that strategic collaboration would be mutually beneficial.
In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted the importance of the meeting as an opportunity to unlock untapped potential between the two nations. He emphasized Cambodia’s interest in deepening ties in sectors where both countries can share expertise and resources. The Prime Minister also conveyed warm greetings from Samdech Techo Hun Sen to President Rahmon and reaffirmed Cambodia’s dedication to fostering a robust and enduring partnership with Tajikistan.
As both nations continue to expand their international cooperation, the leaders’ dialogue signals a renewed commitment to closer bilateral relations based on shared priorities and mutual respect.
