Phnom Penh – Lay Chhun Hour, President of the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF), will lead a high-level Cambodian delegation to the ANUGA 2025 – International Food Industry Trade Fair, scheduled to take place in Cologne, Germany, from October 4–8.
According to a CRF press release, the delegation will comprise 45 participants from 16 institutions, including 13 rice-exporting companies that are CRF members, as well as representatives from the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB) and Khmer Enterprise (KE).
This marks Cambodia’s second participation in the world-renowned trade fair, following its debut in 2023. For this year’s edition, Cambodia will showcase a 96-square-metre national pavilion in Hall 2.1 of the Koelnmesse Exhibition Center, designed to highlight the Kingdom’s premium rice and food products. The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Commerce.
Established in 1919, ANUGA has grown into one of the world’s most influential platforms for food and beverage industry leaders. At the event, Chhun Hour is expected to present Cambodia’s rice sector progress at the Eurofine Rice Conference 2025. He will also join discussions with the Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) Global on developing Cambodia’s SRP National Chapter, and meet with Euricom, a leading European rice importer and distributor based in Milan, Italy.
From January to August 2025, Cambodia exported 472,803 tonnes of rice to 66 countries and territories, generating $348.18 million in revenue. This reflects a 14.75% rise in export volume and a 14.1% increase in earnings compared to the same period in 2024. In addition, the country exported 848,835 tonnes of paddy rice worth $114.25 million to neighboring countries, up significantly from last year’s 331,592 tonnes valued at $91.16 million.
