Pursat province’s Bridge No. 28, the tallest in Cambodia, is nearing completion, with construction progress reaching 93%. The bridge, which stands at an impressive 90 meters high and spans 530 meters in length, is scheduled to be put into temporary use on March 18, 2025.
On the morning of February 2, 2025, His Excellency Peng Purna, Minister of Public Works and Transport, conducted an on-site inspection of the bridge as part of the broader construction progress review for National Road No. 10 (formerly National Road 1551).
Bridge No. 28 plays a crucial role in the National Road 10 development project, enhancing connectivity and transportation efficiency in the region. Situated at kilometer 128+905, the bridge traverses the Stung Russey Chrum valley at a 90-degree intersection angle.
The bridge’s upper structure consists of a combination of “T” type beams and a cable-stayed box beam. Specifically, the eastern section comprises four “T” type beams, the central segment features a cable-stayed box beam with three beams, and the western section is constructed with five “T” type beams.
The lower structure incorporates bridge abutments and wide beams, supported by round columns with bored foundations for the “T” type beams. Additionally, the wide beam utilizes wall columns with bored foundations, ensuring stability and durability.
With its towering height and advanced engineering, Bridge No. 28 is set to become a significant infrastructure milestone, improving transportation and economic development in Pursat province and beyond.
