Jesse McCaul, an American-born influencer and entrepreneur, has been appointed as an advisor to Cambodia’s Ministry of Interior through a royal decree issued on December 27 by King Norodom Sihamoni. McCaul is among 17 other individuals to receive this prestigious appointment, equivalent to the rank of undersecretary of state, and will serve in the role without a salary.
Upon receiving the appointment, McCaul expressed gratitude to the King, Prime Minister Hun Manet, and Interior Minister Sar Sokha. He highlighted Cambodia’s remarkable progress and peace, emphasizing his commitment to enhancing Cambodia’s global recognition and support.
“As a foreign national who has resided in Cambodia for decades, I have witnessed first-hand the remarkable development and enjoyed the peace and stability of this nation,” he stated. McCaul pledged to further promote Cambodia’s positive image internationally.
Originally from the United States, McCaul is a well-known Khmer-speaking influencer, producing content that showcases Cambodia’s culture, tourism, and values. His motivational videos have gained significant traction, with his Facebook page amassing 140,000 followers and his TikTok account exceeding 360,000 followers. His content often encourages national pride and unity, especially during events like the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games, where he motivated Cambodians to support their athletes and show hospitality to guests.
Beyond his online influence, McCaul is a prominent entrepreneur and investor in Cambodia. Since 2021, he has served as a senior advisor for AZ Group, focusing on liquidation consulting, capital investment projects, financial and risk management services. Additionally, he is the founder and CEO of Advantage Empowerment Consulting since 2006, working with a diverse range of clients, including non-profits and businesses, to help them define and implement their vision, mission, and direction.
His entrepreneurial background also includes roles as the founder and CEO of Assurance Hospitality Consultants, board member and academic advisor at KCE International School and Rich Education Co. Ltd., and chairman and CEO of New Life Group. Furthermore, he founded the Cambodian Trade Promotion Association (CTPA), dedicated to supporting Cambodian businesses on the international stage.
McCaul’s appointment further solidifies his dedication to Cambodia’s growth and his commitment to representing the country positively worldwide.
