The strategic plans were unveiled at the inaugural meeting of the National Committee for Tourism Development for the 7th Legislature of the National Assembly on March 25, 2024. Chaired by Thong Khon, Senior Minister in Charge of Special Missions and Chairman of the National Committee for Tourism Development, the meeting emphasized the importance of strengthening existing tourism markets and venturing into new ones.

Recognizing the significance of the upcoming Khmer New Year festivities, the committee also disseminated a circular that focuses on enhancing the quality of tourism products and services during this celebratory period. Capturing the spirit of responsibility, the circular urges relevant departments and the capital-provincial administration to diligently implement the outlined guidelines.
Senior Minister Thong Khon underscored the importance of adhering to the prime minister’s instructions regarding the organization of traditional games, hygiene, security, safety, travel, decoration, aesthetics, and tourism services during the Khmer New Year celebrations.
