Ham Arun, Deputy Director of the Battambang Provincial Department of Tourism, reported that during the two-day Khmer Food Fair held on December 29 and 30, 2024, Battambang Province welcomed more than 90,000 domestic and international tourists.
Arun shared detailed statistics, noting that on December 29, 2024, the province received 39,295 tourists, marking a 3.77% increase compared to the same period in 2023. On December 30, 2024, the number of domestic tourists rose to 54,114, an increase of 4.14% compared to the previous year.
The Deputy Director encouraged citizens and tourists from around the world to participate in the festive activities in Battambang, including the food fair and various New Year’s Eve programs on the night of December 31, 2024.
Under the leadership of Sok Loo, Governor of Battambang Provincial Government, the Battambang Provincial Administration has been organizing a three-day Khmer food and dessert exhibition in front of the provincial hall. This event aims to celebrate the 2024-2025 New Year’s Eve, promote Khmer products, and create a joyful atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.
Adding to the excitement, the night of December 31, 2024, will feature a grand concert, a spectacular fireworks display, and a countdown event to ring in the New Year in style.
