Phnom Penh — H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held a virtual meeting this afternoon with H.E. Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, to discuss ways to advance the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two Kingdoms.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the two ministers engaged in a productive exchange of views on enhancing bilateral relations and expanding collaboration across multiple sectors of mutual interest. The discussions focused on strengthening existing frameworks of cooperation in diplomacy, trade, education, and cultural exchange, reaffirming both nations’ shared commitment to deepening ties.
The meeting also addressed preparations for the 20th Francophonie Summit, which will be hosted by Cambodia in 2026. Both sides expressed their intention to work closely to ensure the event’s success and to further promote cooperation within the Francophone community.
In addition, the ministers exchanged perspectives on key regional and international developments, highlighting the importance of solidarity and dialogue in addressing global challenges.
Following the discussions, H.E. Prak Sokhonn and H.E. Nasser Bourita signed a Joint Communiqué, marking a significant milestone in Cambodia–Morocco relations. The agreement provides a roadmap for enhanced multi-sectoral collaboration and reinforces the two nations’ mutual aspiration to promote peace, development, and prosperity.
The signing of the communiqué underscores the enduring friendship between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Kingdom of Morocco and their shared vision for a stronger, more cooperative future.
