London — Cambodia’s Minister of Tourism, H.E. Hout Hak, has called on the nation’s embassy in London to take the lead in promoting Cambodia’s tourism and investment opportunities across the United Kingdom.
The appeal was made during the Minister’s working visit to London, where he is heading the Cambodian delegation to the World Travel Market (WTM) 2025 — one of the world’s leading international travel industry exhibitions.
Expanding Cambodia’s International Tourism Presence
During a meeting with H.E. Mrs. Tuot Panha, Ambassador of Cambodia to the United Kingdom, and embassy officials, Minister Hout Hak outlined a strategic approach to strengthen Cambodia’s visibility in the UK market and among other nations under the embassy’s jurisdiction.
He encouraged diplomatic representatives to intensify outreach efforts that highlight Cambodia’s diverse tourism attractions, favourable investment climate, and cultural richness. The Minister underscored that Cambodia’s renowned hospitality and warmth remain key elements in enhancing its global appeal as a preferred travel destination.
Combating Misinformation and Building a Positive Image
Minister Hout Hak also urged the embassy to adopt a proactive communications strategy aimed at countering misinformation that could negatively impact perceptions of Cambodia’s tourism sector. By engaging with media, travel professionals, and investors, the embassy can help ensure an accurate and positive representation of the Kingdom abroad.
Strengthening Institutional Cooperation
During the meeting, the Minister extended formal greetings and best wishes from Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to Ambassador Tuot Panha and the embassy staff.
The Ministry of Tourism continues to implement policies that promote Cambodia as a leading cultural and eco-tourism destination, while the Cambodia Tourism Board drives national marketing efforts to attract international visitors and sustainable investment.
