A Cambodian contestant has won an international crown for the first time in the history of the country’s beauty pageant.
Pich Mainavyta, 21, won Miss Petite Global 2022, which was held in Malaysia, and since Saturday night, social media users in Cambodia have been posting about how proud they are of her.
Mainavyta is the first woman from Cambodia to have ever won an international contest. She and Chan Koemseth, a male contestant from Cambodia who won first runner-up in the Mister Petite Global 2022 competition, returned to Cambodia on Sunday morning.
