The Cambodian Ministry of Tourism has declared its participation in the upcoming ITB Berlin 2024, an international tourism fair, which is scheduled from March 5-7, 2024, in Berlin, Germany. This announcement also serves as an invitation to Cambodia’s private tour operators, related associations, development partners, investors, and tourism institutions to participate in this significant event alongside government officials to promote Cambodia’s tourism offerings on a global scale.
ITB Berlin, known as ‘Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin’, stands as one of the premier global tourism trade fairs, attracting participation from leading hotel brands, tourist boards, tour operators, system providers, airlines, car rental firms, and industry investors annually in March.
The 2024 event is set to feature approximately 5,500 exhibitors from 160 nations and expects to attract over 10,000 visitors from 180 countries, including a substantial number of investors and funds focused on the tourism sector. Additionally, the fair will be covered by over 3,400 media representatives and travel bloggers from around the world, ensuring significant international media exposure.
To prepare for the fair, the Ministry of Tourism has secured a 112-square-meter pavilion to highlight Cambodia’s tourism attractions. This space will accommodate up to 20 Cambodian tourism businesses and stakeholders, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their offerings.
Participation in ITB Berlin 2024 presents a valuable opportunity for Cambodian tourism businesses, both large and small, to explore new investment avenues, attract international tourists, and establish connections with global tourism business partners.
Private sector participants will benefit from direct engagement with international business counterparts, industry specialists, and representatives from the Ministry of Tourism. Attendees will be provided with counter space within the ministry’s pavilion, exhibitor passes, registration on the ITB Berlin 2024 Exhibitor Portal, and opportunities for meetings with members of the ITB Buyers Circle.
Additionally, participants will have access to networking events, including a dinner hosted by the Cambodian Association in Germany and a cocktail event at the Cambodia-themed pavilion.
To further promote Cambodia’s tourism attractions, the Ministry plans to conduct various promotional activities during the fair, aimed at showcasing the country’s tourism potential to visitors and potential investors.
This initiative to promote Cambodian tourism on the international stage aligns with recent updates to the sub-decree governing the Cambodia Tourism Marketing and Promoting Board. This revision aims to enhance tourism development and promotion in Cambodia through improved cooperation between the government and the private sector.
For those interested in participating, the Ministry of Tourism has issued a final reminder that today, February 16, is the last day to register for involvement in this pivotal event.
