Phnom Penh — The “Gateway to India: Higher Education Opportunities for Cambodian Students” officially opened today at the Himawari Hotel, Phnom Penh, celebrating the deepening partnership between India and Cambodia in the field of higher education.
Organized by Edunial Group, and co-hosted by TBC Global Partners in collaboration with the Royal Cambodian Consulate in India, the event attracted participation from eight leading Indian universities, Cambodian officials, educators, and hundreds of students eager to explore academic pathways in India.
The opening ceremony was graced by H.E. Samheng Boros, Minister attached to the Prime Minister of Cambodia; H.E. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung, Ambassador of India to Cambodia; H.E. Sann Vathana, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport; and H.E. Dr. Sao Chivoan, Secretary of State for Rural Development and President of the Cambodia–India Alumni Association.
In his welcoming address, Mr. Walter Dantis, CEO of TBC Global Partners, extended a warm welcome to dignitaries and guests, highlighting the importance of international collaboration in empowering Cambodia’s youth through global education.
Mr. Tribhuwan Pratap Singh, CEO of Edunial Group, showcased the vast opportunities India offers to international students and emphasized that education serves as a vital bridge strengthening bilateral ties between India and Cambodia.
H.E. Samheng Boros shared insightful remarks on the future of education in Cambodia, noting that “the future belongs to the youth — Cambodians must be creative, ambitious, and ready to shape tomorrow.”
H.E. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung underlined the enduring educational links between India and Cambodia and reaffirmed India’s commitment to supporting Cambodia’s human capital development through academic partnerships and exchange programs.
H.E. Sann Vathana delivered an address on Cambodia’s ongoing education reforms, focusing on innovation, digital transformation, and inclusive access to learning opportunities.
H.E. Dr. Sao Chivoan, a proud alumnus of an Indian university, shared his inspiring personal journey, reflecting on how his education in India shaped his leadership path. His message inspired many young students in attendance to pursue higher education abroad while contributing to Cambodia’s growth.
The day’s highlight was a thought-provoking panel discussion titled “The Future is Now: AI & Data Science,” where experts and university representatives discussed the impact of artificial intelligence and data analytics on future careers. The engaging session encouraged Cambodian students to embrace emerging technologies and align their education with global innovation trends.
Throughout the day, students and parents interacted directly with representatives from the eight participating Indian universities, learning about academic programs, scholarships, and career opportunities across a wide range of disciplines. The interactions reflected strong enthusiasm and a shared commitment to fostering people-to-people connections through education.
Day 1 concluded on a positive and forward-looking note, reinforcing the mutual vision of both nations to empower Cambodian youth through education, technology, and innovation.
