The Ministry of Women’s Affairs has announced that it will officially launch the “Neary Rattanak VI” Strategic Plan 2024-2028 on Monday, April 8, 2024, at the Sun & Moon Riverside Hotel. The event, which will run from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., is set to be a significant national gathering aimed at promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls in Cambodia.
According to the press release, “Neary Rattanak VI” is a comprehensive five-year master plan designed to address the evolving situations and societal changes in Cambodia. The plan aligns with the policy framework of the Royal Government of Cambodia, particularly contributing to the implementation of the Pentagonal Strategy-Phase I, the Cambodian Sustainable Development Goals Framework, and the commitments of the United Nations and the region.
The Official Launch Ceremony is expected to set the tone for the strategy’s implementation and ensure that all key partners and stakeholders are aligned with the national vision to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment. The event will bring together approximately 500 participants from across the country, including representatives from ministries, institutions, diplomatic missions, civil society organizations, national and international development partners, policymakers, researchers, academia, youth, and sub-national levels.
The launch of “Neary Rattanak VI” underscores the Ministry of Women’s Affairs’ commitment to advancing the rights and opportunities of women and girls in Cambodia, and it is expected to serve as a catalyst for positive change in the years to come.
