During a significant meeting held on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Prime Minister Hun Manet warmly welcomed Swiss company Bühler Group’s keen interest in introducing cutting-edge technology to enhance Cambodia’s agriculture sector. This sector has been designated as a key priority by Prime Minister Hun Manet’s seventh-term government.

The meeting, which took place on January 17, saw Prime Minister Hun Manet engage in discussions with Mary Akinyi Olwal, the Quality Control and Cereal Supply Director of Bühler Group. Olwal expressed a strong interest in expanding her company’s investments by introducing state-of-the-art agricultural technology to Cambodia. Bühler Group’s advanced technology can be effectively applied throughout the agricultural cycle, from the early stages of seedling development to the harvesting, processing, and exportation of products to international markets.

Prime Minister Hun Manet conveyed his enthusiastic support for Bühler Group’s commitment to enhancing Cambodia’s agriculture sector, a vital component of the nation’s economic development. He highlighted Cambodia’s current focus on prioritizing agriculture and emphasized the importance of collaboration with relevant authorities, particularly the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries. Such collaboration is integral to gaining support for extensive research and development efforts aimed at further advancing the sector.

The Prime Minister’s endorsement of Bühler Group’s interest underscores the government’s dedication to promoting innovation and modernization in Cambodia’s agriculture industry. The introduction of advanced agricultural technologies has the potential to revolutionize the sector, enhance crop yields, improve food security, and boost agricultural exports, contributing to the nation’s economic growth and prosperity.

As Cambodia continues to prioritize the agriculture sector and seeks innovative solutions to address contemporary challenges, partnerships with renowned international companies like Bühler Group can play a pivotal role in driving sustainable development and ensuring the sector’s long-term success. This collaboration between Cambodian authorities and Bühler Group holds great promise for the future of agriculture in Cambodia.
