In a powerful affirmation of its people-first philosophy, Wing Bank (Cambodia) Plc. has been awarded the Asia Best Employer Brand Award 2025 by the Employer Branding Institute – India. The honor was presented at the 20th Employer Branding Awards in Singapore, marking the fifth time Wing Bank has received this prestigious recognition.
“At Wing Bank, we believe that when we take care of our people, they take care of everything else,” said Sheanghai Lao, Group Chief People & Culture Officer of the Royal Group of Companies. “Our employees are not just part of the company—they are the heart of it. We work hard to create an environment where everyone feels safe, supported, and inspired to grow. We want every Winger to know they matter.”
This award comes at a time of dynamic growth for Wing Bank. The bank has expanded its physical presence across Cambodia, now operating nearly 30 outlets nationwide. This expansion has not only improved access to financial services but also created meaningful employment opportunities. The bank’s workforce grew by 50% from 2024 to mid-2025, with women making up nearly 35% of the team.
To support this growth, Wing Bank invested heavily in employee development. In just six months, the bank conducted 282 training programs, totaling 4,523 hours of learning. These programs covered leadership, digital tools, product knowledge, and meta skills—ensuring employees are equipped to serve customers and grow in their careers.
Wing Bank’s Employee Value Proposition (EVP)—defined by its employees—centers on ‘We Care’, ‘We Develop’, ‘We Make Impact’, and ‘We Reward’. These pillars, along with the bank’s core values of ‘Winning’, ‘Innovation’, ‘Nurturing’, ‘Growth’, ‘Excellence’, and ‘Respect’, form the foundation of a workplace where people feel inspired, recognized, and supported.
The bank has also made significant strides in promoting workplace equity. In partnership with Good Return, Wing Bank developed a Gender Action Plan and introduced policies for Child Protection and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment. Employees have been trained in gender-inclusive practices, fostering a culture of respect and inclusion.
Across all Wing Bank offices—both in Phnom Penh and the provinces—employees enjoy access to thoughtfully designed pantries, food spaces, and relaxing lounges. These areas provide a comfortable environment for staff to recharge during lunch breaks, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to creating a supportive and balanced workplace.
In April 2025, Wing Bank opened a modern fitness center at its headquarters, offering employees free access to high-quality gym equipments and wellness spaces. Thoughtfully designed to promote physical health and mental well-being, the facility reflects the bank’s deep commitment to help its people feel their best—both at work and beyond.
Beyond the workplace, Wing Bank’s culture of compassion extends into the community. Employees have participated in blood donation drives, tree planting initiatives, and fundraising for Angkor Hospital for Children. One of Wing Bank’s most transformative initiatives is the Young Winger Development Program, a career accelerator for Cambodian youth who lack the financial means to pursue higher education. The program provides monthly allowances, insurance, accommodation, and structured training. Since its launch in 2024, 56 participants have completed the program, with 39 joining Wing Bank as full-time staff—a testament to the bank’s commitment to inclusive growth.
Wing Bank’s fourth Asia Best Employer Brand Award is more than a milestone—it’s a celebration of purpose-driven leadership, inclusive growth, and the belief that when you invest in people, you build something extraordinary.
