Phnom Penh, Cambodia — Cambodia and Pakistan have signed three key documents aimed at deepening bilateral trade cooperation and expanding economic engagement, officials confirmed on 11 February 2026. The agreements were formalised following the second Ministerial Meeting of the Cambodia-Pakistan Joint Trade Committee in Islamabad, marking a renewed commitment to fostering stronger commercial ties between the two countries.
The signing ceremony was co-chaired by Cham Nimul, Cambodia’s Minister of Commerce, and Jam Kamal Khan, Federal Minister of Commerce of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Representatives from relevant ministries and government agencies attended the meeting, which reviewed progress in bilateral economic cooperation and outlined practical steps to boost two-way trade.
According to official statements, the agreements focus on promoting enhanced trade flows, broadening export opportunities, and improving market access for goods and services. Cambodia and Pakistan officials expressed satisfaction with the achievements to date and underscored their mutual interest in capitalising on sectors with strong cooperation potential.
During the session, delegates discussed strategies to reduce barriers to trade, streamline regulatory frameworks, and encourage business collaboration — all aimed at supporting private sector development and cross-border commerce. The meeting also highlighted the importance of ongoing dialogue through the Joint Trade Committee as a mechanism for monitoring progress and identifying actionable opportunities for economic cooperation.
Both sides noted that the signed documents reflect a shared intention to strengthen the Cambodia-Pakistan trade partnership, with particular emphasis on exploring new markets, enhancing export competitiveness, and addressing logistical and regulatory challenges that affect trade dynamics. Officials indicated that expanding commercial ties would contribute to job creation, value chain development, and diversified economic growth in both countries.
Cambodia’s trade agenda with Pakistan aligns with broader diplomatic and economic outreach efforts, complementing ongoing initiatives with regional and international partners. The agreements signed in Islamabad are expected to guide cooperative activities over the coming year and lay the foundation for future collaboration in areas such as investment promotion, market research, and private sector engagement.
