PHNOM PENH — Cambodia will implement a four-month trial policy granting visa-free entry for Chinese citizens traveling from China between June 15 and October 15, 2026, according to an official government letter issued on Tuesday.
Signed by Hing Thoraxy, Standing Secretary of State at the Council of Ministers, the document states that Chinese nationals will be allowed to enter Cambodia without a visa for stays of up to 14 days during the trial period. Travelers will only be required to complete an E-arrival card before entry.
The letter notes that visitors may enter Cambodia multiple times within the four-month window without needing to apply for a visa or pay any associated fees.
The government has also authorised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to discuss simplified visa procedures for Cambodian citizens travelling to China. These negotiations are aimed at advancing reciprocal visa exemption arrangements in the future.
Industry representatives have expressed support for the decision. Thourn Sinan, chairman of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Cambodia chapter, said the move is expected to support increased arrivals of tourists, business travellers and investors from China.
China remains one of Cambodia’s largest tourism markets. Data from the Ministry of Tourism shows that approximately 1 million Chinese visitors arrived in the Kingdom between January and October 2025.
