Phnom Penh: Cambodia’s aviation sector continues to show strong post-pandemic recovery, with both passenger and cargo traffic recording double-digit growth during the first nine months of 2025, according to official data from the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA).
Sin Chansereyvutha, Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the SSCA, confirmed that from January to September 2025, the country’s three international airports collectively handled 47,637 inbound and outbound flights, marking a 12 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Passenger traffic reached 5,109,325, reflecting a 14 percent year-on-year rise, underscoring Cambodia’s strengthening position as a regional travel and tourism hub.
Air cargo operations also experienced significant expansion, with more than 64,513 tons of goods transported by air during the nine-month period — a 14 percent increase over the same timeframe last year.
Currently, 32 airlines operate flights to and from Cambodia’s international airports, comprising four domestic and 28 international carriers. The growing network highlights the country’s expanding connectivity and the rising demand for both tourism and trade-related air travel.
Officials attribute this momentum to the steady recovery of the tourism sector, increased regional business travel, and Cambodia’s enhanced cooperation with international aviation partners.
