Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI) is offering significant incentives to airlines in a bid to establish new routes and expand business operations. Marking the airport’s first anniversary, Zou Yuhui, Chairman of Yunnan Air Investment Cambodia Airport (YACA) management, made the announcement on October 16, highlighting how these measures are poised to stimulate the growth of Siem Reap’s tourism and aviation sectors.

The incentives, designed to attract airlines launching new routes or resuming services after a 12-month suspension, include full waivers of landing, parking, lighting, and aerobridge fees for the first year. In the second year, these fees will be reduced by 50%, encouraging sustained growth. In addition, new airlines or those resuming operations will benefit from a 50% reduction in operational fees in the first year, followed by a 25% reduction in the second.

To further support airlines, direct incentives will be awarded based on the number of passengers per flight. Flights carrying between 120 and 150 passengers will receive a USD 400 incentive, while those carrying more than 150 passengers will receive USD 600 per flight.

Chairman Zou expressed optimism about the future, stating, “Under the guidance and support of the Royal Government of Cambodia, with the backing of the Chinese Embassy, and through the cooperation of all partners, Siem Reap Angkor International Airport will continue to progress and achieve sustainable development. This will provide new momentum for the revitalization of Siem Reap’s tourism sector and contribute to Cambodia’s overall socioeconomic growth.”

Minister in charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, Mao Havannal, underscored the Royal Government’s commitment to promoting tourism in Siem Reap Province. The newly introduced policies and incentives aim to create a favorable environment for investment in tourism, aligning with Cambodia’s broader goals of economic revitalization and growth.

With these dynamic measures in place, Siem Reap Angkor International Airport is set to become a key driver in boosting tourism, creating opportunities for airlines and businesses while propelling the region towards a brighter future.
