King Norodom Sihamoni has expressed his confidence and hopes for the new Royal Government under Prime Minister Hun Manet to generate economic growth, improve the living standards of citizens, and strengthen the social protection system. This statement was made during the Royal Speech at the opening ceremony of the first session of the Seventh National Assembly.
Attended by prominent individuals including Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly, outgoing Prime Minister Hun Sen, Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and incoming Prime Minister Hun Manet, the event marked the beginning of a new chapter for Cambodia.
King Sihamoni’s belief in the new government’s ability to fulfill its responsibilities and tasks is grounded in their commitment to policy standards. The continuation of promoting economic growth and enhancing the social protection system, which encompasses all citizens, will be a key focus for the Royal Government.

He referenced the four Brahma Viharas, which include qualities like loving-kindness, compassion, appreciative joy, and equanimity. These principles will guide the government’s work and contribute to the achievement of its lofty goals.
The King concluded his speech by expressing his wishes for the Seventh National Assembly to operate smoothly and responsibly. He highlighted the importance of the Assembly’s role in achieving new levels of success for the common good of the motherland and all its people.
