The unveiling of the HONOR Magic V2 5G foldable smartphone took center stage at a grand event hosted at Morgan Tower in Phnom Penh, capturing the attention of attendees with its innovative design and advanced features.
HONOR introduces this device as the world’s most lightweight inward-folding smartphone, setting a new standard in the realm of mobile technology. Thang Sary, General Manager of Yako Technology Cambodia Co Ltd, highlighted the device’s unique attributes during the launch, emphasizing its ultra-thin profile and exceptional battery life.
Boasting dimensions that shrink to just 9.9mm when closed and expand to a mere 4.7mm upon unfolding, the HONOR Magic V2 5G stands out for its sleek and elegant design. The use of a titanium alloy hinge, a material commonly found in aerospace engineering, ensures a perfect blend of lightness and durability. This choice of material makes the hinge significantly stronger compared to those made from traditional aluminium alloy.
In a bid to enhance the phone’s resilience, HONOR has incorporated a special HONOR Shield Steel into the hinge’s core structure. This innovative steel, which makes up two-thirds of the hinge, draws inspiration from the robust materials used in tunnel construction, offering an impressive combination of slimness and strength.
The hinge’s design is further refined through the use of mortise and tenon integral moulding technology, which seamlessly unites the hinge’s components, minimizing internal space and reducing the device’s overall thickness. This meticulous engineering ensures the phone can endure up to 400,000 folds, equating to a decade of use at an average of 100 folds per day.
During the event, Ryan, the General Manager of HONOR Cambodia, described the HONOR Magic V2 5G as a significant leap forward in performance, designed to cater to a wide range of users across different age groups.
The launch was recognized by Li Kuntai, Executive Vice President of the Cambodian Chinese Council, as a pivotal moment for Cambodia’s smartphone market. The event saw a gathering of notable figures, partners, and media representatives. The HONOR Magic V2 5G, available in elegant purple and classic black, is priced at $1,499 in the Cambodian market, offering a sophisticated blend of innovation and style.
