Journey Cambodia is the Number 1 day tour travel company in Cambodia. They offer tour bookings with a direct booking option available on their website. Visit their TripAdvisor page to see thousands of satisfied customers’ positive reviews.

Boret Ream: The Man Behind Journey Cambodia

Boret Ream hails from Banteay Meanchey Province, where he was born into a farming family. His father also served as a commune officer. After completing his high school education, Boret moved to Siem Reap, the city of tourism. He was fascinated with the life of Siem Reap, and it ignited his ambition for bigger goals in life.

Boret started working part-time in a hotel after migrating to Siem Reap while continuing his studies at the university. As a waiter, he learned about food, different cultures and built the confidence to interact with people from various parts of the world. When he was about to complete his Bachelor’s degree, he got a chance to work with an international tour company’s operations department.

Attracted to the five-day working culture with facilities like insurance, Boret already had his mind set on starting a similar business where people could balance their professional and personal lives. This marked a significant transformation in his life.

Later, he worked for an NGO as a project manager, which helped him develop his skills and personality. His love for the tourism industry did not fade, and his previous tour company invited him back for the same position, which had previously laid off various positions, including his, due to the global recession. He started working for them again.

The Birth of Journey Cambodia

During a visit to Vietnam, Boret noticed many day tour agencies there. However, no professional day tour company was online during those days in Cambodia. There were only offline travel agencies in Siem Reap that organized day tours. Tourists found it difficult to trust their service because they weren’t present online with customer reviews. Boret identified this gap and decided to act on it.

He started conducting research and meeting with tourists. A couple from the UK mentioned that it was easy in Bangkok because most day tour agencies were online, and they could book before visiting. They could also access customer reviews to understand the quality of service. Boret says, “This kind of customer feedback helped me start Journey Cambodia and got me thinking about how to build trust among tourists. I think customer feedback is a valuable asset for any business.”

Journey Cambodia was born, and it was the first day tour company in Cambodia registered on TripAdvisor. In 2017, Boret started his own office, focusing on time management, world-class experience, and customer-friendly service to build trust.

Boret believes that if you are a good cook, people will love your food, and they will follow you even if you are far away from them. Similarly, tour services too. Journey Cambodia has never deviated from its core values. Building trust means creating trust among employees first, and they will help in developing the company’s trust among its clients. First, we have to love our job to provide better service. We should not escape taking responsibility and admitting our mistakes. This is very helpful when building an organization.

“Journey Cambodia is not just about exploring the hidden gems of a magical land; it’s about creating unforgettable memories while making a positive impact on the world. Our dedication to sustainable tourism and local empowerment ensures that every traveler leaves with a profound appreciation for Cambodia’s enchanting beauty and rich cultural heritage.” – Boret Ream, Founder of Journey Cambodia

Personal Life

Behind every successful individual lies a strong support system, and for Boret Ream, his wife Seky Nguon, plays a significant role in his accomplishments. Together, they have built a beautiful family with a daughter and a son, while also working hand-in-hand to grow Journey Cambodia. Seky Nguon’s expertise in managing the company’s finance department has been instrumental in its success, ensuring a stable foundation for the business to thrive.

A Commitment to Sustainability and Local Empowerment

At the heart of Journey Cambodia’s vision lies a steadfast dedication to sustainable tourism practices. By offering local green tour packages and promoting Cambodia’s lesser-known treasures, the company actively contributes to the betterment of local communities and the environment. This commitment to sustainability has earned Journey Cambodia a reputation as a responsible and ethical tour operator, making it the perfect choice for eco-conscious travelers.

Crafting Unforgettable Experiences

Journey Cambodia’s mission is to create unforgettable experiences for its clients while also making a positive impact on the world. This is achieved through a combination of tailor-made itineraries, efficient travel planning, and a focus on memorable local encounters. With passionate and knowledgeable tour guides leading the way, travelers can expect to delve deep into Cambodia’s rich history and culture, leaving with cherished memories and a newfound appreciation for this incredible country.

A Diverse Array of Offerings

Journey Cambodia’s diverse range of products and services caters to the unique interests and preferences of its clients. From shared group day tours and countryside cycling adventures to private, customizable packages, there is something for everyone. The company also places a strong emphasis on local interaction, offering travelers the chance to engage with Cambodian communities and gain a deeper understanding of their customs and traditions.

A Team of Dedicated Professionals

The success of Journey Cambodia can be attributed to its dedicated team of professionals. Boasting a dynamic office staff, over 20 multilingual tour guides, and more than 10 full-time drivers, the company ensures that every aspect of the customer experience is handled with care and expertise. This commitment to excellence has resulted in nearly 10,000 glowing reviews on platforms like TripAdvisor, Viator, GetYourGuide, Expedia, and Google Business.

With a fleet of vehicles and staff fluent in languages such as German, French, Chinese, Russian, and English, Journey Cambodia is well-equipped to cater to the diverse needs of travelers from all corners of the globe.

Journey Cambodia Foundation

The Journey Cambodia Foundation is a testament to the company’s commitment to social responsibility and community support. Established with the primary aim of providing assistance during times of crisis, the foundation encourages all employees to contribute USD 5 each month to an employee crisis management fund. This fund proved invaluable during the COVID-19 pandemic, as it enabled the company to extend much-needed support to its employees.

In addition to its focus on employee welfare, the Journey Cambodia Foundation actively engages in philanthropic activities, such as donating to local hospitals and participating in various charity events. Through these efforts, the foundation not only fosters a sense of unity and compassion among its staff but also contributes to the betterment of the communities in which it operates.

The Journey Cambodia Difference

What sets Journey Cambodia apart from other tour operators is its unwavering commitment to providing authentic, memorable, and sustainable experiences for its clients. By offering flexible itineraries, efficient communication, and excellent value for money, the company has established itself as a leader in the Cambodian tourism industry. Furthermore, its focus on improving the lives of local people and protecting the environment demonstrates that Journey Cambodia is not only a provider of incredible experiences but also a force for positive change.

Journey Cambodia is the ideal choice for travelers seeking to discover the hidden gems of Cambodia while also making a positive impact on the world. With its deep understanding of the local environment, cultural heritage, and commitment to sustainable tourism, Journey Cambodia guarantees that each traveler will leave with unforgettable memories and a profound appreciation for this enchanting land.
