Phnom Penh – The Cambodian Boxing Federation (CBF) has reaffirmed its dedication to making boxing a premier sport in Cambodia, with a strong focus on international success and nurturing young talent.
H.E. Buy Sophoan, newly elected CBF President for the 8th mandate (2025-2029), made the announcement during the federation’s general assembly at the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) headquarters. He emphasized the federation’s goal of securing more medals in regional and global sporting events, particularly at the 4th Asian Youth Games 2029, which Cambodia will host.
To achieve this, the CBF will collaborate with key partners to organize competitions and enhance the national boxing team’s performance. Plans are also underway to establish a dedicated boxing academy to scout and develop young boxing talent across the country.
H.E. Buy Sophoan, previously serving as CBF Secretary General, was elected to lead the federation following the resignation of former president Dr. Chheung Yao Yen, who has been appointed as the Honorary President of CBF.
