From December 10 to 11, 2024, H.E. KUNG Phoak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, ASEAN SOM Leader, and Eminent Person for the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision (HLTF-ACV), led delegations to the 19th Meeting of the HLTF-ACV in Vientiane, Lao PDR.
The meeting marked a significant milestone by finalizing the ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC) Strategic Plan for the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. This achievement is a critical step in advancing the region’s shared aspirations for sustainable peace, security, and prosperity.
To ensure alignment and synergy among the strategic plans across the ASEAN Community pillars, the HLTF-ACV engaged in productive dialogues with key stakeholders. These included the Chair of the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Economic Integration (HLTF-EI), the Co-Chairs of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Development of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Post-2025 Strategic Plan, and both the current and incoming Chairs of the ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee (ACCC). These discussions facilitated updates and coordination on the progress of their respective strategic plans.
Additionally, the HLTF-ACV held an interface with the ASEAN Youth Organization to exchange views on the pivotal role of youth in shaping ASEAN’s future. This engagement underscored the importance of empowering the region’s younger generation to contribute to the realization of ASEAN’s long-term vision.
The outcomes of the meeting reaffirm ASEAN’s commitment to fostering unity, collaboration, and inclusivity as the region advances toward its Vision 2045 goals.
